Self-Care for Helping Professionals Workshops

  • Increase your capacity to cope with personal & occupational stress
  • Release unhealthy patterns and create life-enhancing attitudes and behaviors
  • Work with your body to identify your unique blueprint for self-care–natural rhythms of eating & drinking, working & recreating, engagement & withdrawal, that vary from one day to the next, one season to another.

Mental health, medical and ministry professions can be demanding, challenging and emotionally taxing. Personal self-care and well-being are foundational for professional satisfaction and longevity and can help reduce risk for burnout, vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue—occupational hazards of professionals dealing with the physical, psychological and spiritual well-being of others.

This workshop will guide you in creating a personalized self-care plan—including mindful awareness and relaxation techniques—that will promote the physical hardiness, emotional resilience and spiritual vitality you need to thrive in your work as a helping professional.

Program utilizes the Duke Integrative Medicine personalized health planning model to guide you through an assessment of your physical, psychological and spiritual well-being and create an action plan for self-care to produce the resilience and vitality your need to thrive in your personal and professional life.

Workshop can be adapted to the needs of your group.
