About Cissy Brady-Rogers

Professionally, I am trained as a therapist, integrative health coach, spiritual director and yoga teacher. My therapeutic work includes extensive experience with eating disorders, body image, sexuality, grief, depression, anxiety and incorporating spirituality into treatment.

Personally, I am a woman with a story of suffering, healing and reclaiming my own inherent Belovedness, goodness and power–especially related to my female body. An overweight childhood and puberty, a date rape in my young adult years, and a mastectomy for breast cancer at age thirty have been among my greatest teachers.

In 2015 I took the wisdom I’d gleaned from my own journey and 20 years of individual and group work with women to launch Alive and Well Women, a nonprofit committed to revolutionizing the way women relate to ourselves and each other about health, beauty, sexuality and empowerment. We provide programs and supportive community for women seeking an alternative to disempowering, shame-inducing cultural narratives about the female body.

My education includes undergraduate and graduate degrees in religious studies and theology as well as a master’s degree in marital and family therapy. I am a clinical member of the California Association of Marital & Family Therapists and the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals.
