About Cissy Brady-Rogers

Professionally, I am a therapist, teacher and mentor. My therapeutic work focuses on eating disorders, body image, and women’s spirituality. In addition to teaching graduate psychology courses at Azusa Pacific University, I lead workshops and retreats on women’s health, beauty, sexuality and other body related topics. My health coaching programs and spiritual direction practice provide structured opportunities for women who want in-depth mentoring in more life-enhancing ways of being in their bodies and lives.

My education includes undergraduate and graduate degrees in religious studies and theology as well as a master’s degree in marital and family therapy. I am a clinical member of the California Association of Marital & Family Therapists and the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals. I am also a certified spiritual director and yoga teacher.

Personally, I am a woman with a genuine story of growing through my own food and body related challenges. My overweight childhood and puberty, a date rape in my young adult years, and a mastectomy for breast cancer at age thirty have been among my greatest teachers on the journey to loving my body. I have mined the treasures of the dark places in my story and gleaned much wisdom. I look forward to an opportunity to share these riches with you.
